To add to my waters theme, my friend Marjo sent me this photo of the canal outside of her (former) house in Utrecht in The Netherlands. It was always fun to sit outside and watch the tourists go by on the boats. Of course it was no fun having the deck chairs thrown into the water.

There is something about the ocean. Don’t get me wrong. I love looking at the changing face of the river every day, including the days when it is completely iced over. But there is something about the ocean…

This morning dawned cool and clear after two steamy soggy days, the sun shimmering on the river, the boats’ reflections splashing daubs of color onto the surface.

While one would need to imagine the sound of the ducks calling to one another, I was able just to capture them with my inadequate–soon to be upgraded–camera.
