Last Wednesday a graduate student INSISTED that he needed to read the updated edition of Teaching Children to Draw. I certainly didn't argue.

Nathan (my grad student) will be thrilled to make his purchase asap. He might even establish some contact with you. FIRST, he needs to find the book.

CONGRATS. As you and BW know, this is an important time for this new edition!

I love it! It is a shame that you couldn't visually document it, as she did.
Stay cool....

I am still in Korea--we leave tomorrow to return to Texas--and decided to check this blog. Yes, there is something about a Mac.

I think that the term you were looking for, regarding the lilacs was "dead heading". That seems to generally refer to the act of cutting the flowers off of the stem after they have died.
It is a good thing to do to promote the growth and health of the plant.
What a wonderful gift your daughter gave you, in that lilac bush. The gift that keeps on giving, even if it requires some effort.
Love,
Your daughter

Hopefully, my last comment was posted. I have no relationship with my computer. Consequently I can't get it to follow any of my directions.

MW
what's new? As always it sounds like quite a bit. This morning I was traveling through cyber space looking for art education websites and resources to provide relief for the anxieties of my student teachers. (indeed a completely IMPOSSIBLE TASK). Then, I found your blog.
What a funny nonsense connection.

Reading your blog did nothing to help with the planning of my class, but now I'm just plain happy. I'm so excited about the process of the Work. It's always been inspiring watching you get tossed away by the process of your work. I guess that's what intrigued me about the title, "Help: I'm drowning" What does a marj wilson drowning scenario look like? Well, much to my surprise, once again you made me see that life isn't all that bad when we take one step at a time and can laugh about the journey.

By the way, I can't believe your relationship with the computer is getting more intimate. "My computer and I began to plan the quilt." What would you do with out that machine?

There are so many fascinating twists and turns to your life. Really I had no idea. I guess I'll have to keep watching.

HEY, did Joan start making the quilt?

I just received a comment from my friend Marjo in the Netherlands who adds: Breitner's model was the 16 year old Geesje Kwak, she was a seller of hats in Amsterdam.

The sleeping space at the canal house may have been small, but it is still my favorite among Marjo's Utrecht places.
